"Le Tigre" compiles a series of big sized tiger rugs (220 x 160cm) colored with bright textile markers. I found those rugs somewhere in "a dark place" of German interior design and thought immediately, they have a potential. I colored all white parts of the depicted tiger image in bright colors and soon they became somehow like "tigers in drag" with a heavy make-up look. Soon they became pretty popular and made it all over the world: Brazil, India and the U.S.A. The very first tiger rug I created in 2012 was even stolen out of a gallery exhibition in the Netherlands, for which I never was compensated by the gallery owner! Thank you artworld ;)
