The first OKWUI Shirt edition was produced for documenta 11 in 2002, the t-shirts were given to the documenta 11 guides as work-wear for their tours with the visitors. This clothing project asked questions about the role of the curator in contemporary art. When Enwezor was announced to be director of Haus der Kunst in 2011, a second edition was printed.
